Week 28, Day 5 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Three times in these verses, the psalmist refers to his affliction by the Lord, and always for spiritual good — “now I keep your word” (verse 67), “that I might learn your statutes” (verse 71), and motivated by the Lord’s “faithfulness” (verse 75). So, as Hebrews 12 reminds us, “‘My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives’ . . . He disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it” (verses 5-6, 10-11).
