And now, a minute with the Word…

“Though I confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have been baptized, immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins, and though I eat the Lord’s Supper, every Sunday, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I worship without instrumental music, and though I attend every time the doors of the church building are open, but have not love, it profits me nothing.” In other words, anything minus love equals nothing. This does not mean that any of the other things mentioned are unimportant, nor does love excuse or cover disobedience in any other matter, but obedience in every other way without love will not suffice.
