And now, a minute with the Word…

Mark 5 presents a clear contrast between a life dominated by Satan and one set free by the Lord. On the one hand, to the life of this poor man possessed by Legion, the demons brought torment, chaos, isolation, nakedness, shame, violence, and pain, and to the lives of the swine into which they entered, death. On the other hand, when Jesus cast Legion from him, this same man experienced compassion, calm, peace, and joy. Make no mistake, Satan has nothing to offer of lasting worth, and any promise to the contrary comes from the father of lies (John 8.44), but the Lord “will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on [Him]…” (Isaiah 26.3)
