And now, a minute with the Word…

Proverbs 27.19 — “As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.” (ESV)

During the days of Jesus, He taught those who followed Him the same thing. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus said:

Luke 6.43-45 — “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (ESV)

Our heart reflects who we are to the core. The things that we take into our minds and meditate on, those are what we will become. Let us always strive to dwell on the things of God and keep our minds focused on those things above (Colossians 3.2).
