Week 26, Day 2 — Proverbs 14-15
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Chapter 14 explores the consequences of wisdom versus foolishness, particularly in one’s conduct, speech, and fear of the Lord. Wisdom builds up but foolishness tears down (verse 1) and similarly in Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus compared the wise builder (obedient to His word) with the foolish builder (disobedient to His word). The wise man built on the rock of truth and withstood the storms; however, the foolish man who built upon the sand did not. Chapter 15 highlights the power of words, the value of correction, and the joy of righteousness. In verse 3, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place…” also in Hebrews 4:13 “No creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” The Lord sees everything, even the secrets of the heart. In verses 5 and 32, a wise person listens to correction but a fool ignores it. Likewise, Hebrews 12:11 says discipline yields righteousness.
