And now, a minute with the word…

As we read the words of Proverbs 1, are we being intentional with seeking out wisdom? Are we being intentional with trying to find the good and righteous path? Or am I careless and paying no heed to where I’m walking and who I’m walking with? These are questions that we all must wrestle with on a daily basis. The writer of Proverbs tells us that the “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” and “whoever listens to me (Lady Wisdom) will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” (ESV) When we read the words of this book for the next few weeks, let’s be intentional about finding ways that the words of Solomon and others apply to our own situations. Let’s be intentional about finding the good and righteous path. Let’s be a people that seeks after wisdom so we can live a life that is pleasing to God.

Matthew 7.7 — “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.” (ESV)
