Week 23, Day 2 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
This psalm of praise and thanksgiving to God focuses on His goodness, forgiveness, power in creation, and provision for the earth. The psalmist penned “when iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. Blessed is the one you choose and bring near” (verses 3-4). Similarly, Jesus said “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.” (John 6:44) In verse 5, God is described as “the hope of all the ends of the earth and the farthest seas.” Paul cited Isaiah the prophet, “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth” (Acts 13:47) In verses 6-7, the psalmist describes God’s power over creation “who stills the roaring seas”. In Colossians 1:16-17, Paul wrote “by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth… and in Him all things hold together.”
