Week 21, Day 2 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
In these prayerful psalms, what else does David teach us that can help our own prayers? David prayed transparently, and was remarkably honest with God. “I am restless in my complaint and I moan” (verse 2); “My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fear and trembling come upon me, and horror overwhelms me. And I say, ‘Oh, that I had wings like a dove!’” (verse 4-6); “Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan” (verse 17). May we learn, like David, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God . . . casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5.6-7; cf. Psalm 55.22).
