And now, a minute with the Word…

Psalm 42.1 is the inspiration for the hymn titled “As the Deer”. The first stanza reads:

“As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You. You alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship You.”

Throughout the day, reflect on the lyrics to that hymn and ask these 3 questions:

1. Does my soul long for God like the deer searching for water to drink?
2. Is God my heart’s desire? Do I desire to grow closer to God each and every day?
3. Do I long to worship God? Do I look forward to gathering together with my brothers and sisters so that we can offer praise to God together?
