Week 16, Day 1 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
In 32.7-9, Elihu said, “‘Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.’ But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. It is not the old who are wise, nor the aged who understand what is right.” Like Job, Elihu had earlier assumed “Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days” (12.12), but his elders had proven that was not always true; “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2.6), regardless of age. So, whatever your years or youth, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight” (Proverbs 4.7), “Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding” (Proverbs 23.23), and that only from the Lord.
